Geneviève Theryn is Ariane’s stepmother and the mother of Théo, Margaux, and Noémie. Twice widowed, she presides over the household at Hearthwick Hold with a carefully maintained dignity and an unshakable concern for her children’s future.

She expresses love through provision and planning, but her determination to secure her own children’s lives leaves little room for Ariane. In her household, protection and control are often difficult to separate.
