Mirum

The Glass Kingdom: crystal beauty, powerful houses, and carefully maintained appearances.

Overview

Mirum occupies eastern Taramul and is ruled by House Glass. Known as the Glass Kingdom and the Shattered Crown of the East, it is distinguished by marble balconies, crystal bridges, silk banners, cultivated landscapes, and elaborate court traditions.

Geography

Veilmoore and the central-to-eastern Golden Lowlands form its established core. Marble-rich mountains, wooded valleys, fertile plains, rivers, lakes, and coastal cliffs give the kingdom a varied landscape. Ancient dragon roads and ruined strongholds preserve traces of its older history.

Court and Noble Houses

Prestige, lineage, reputation, and public presentation carry great weight in Mirum. Its Crownbound Houses influence government, archives, finance, ceremony, culture, medicine, and trade. The Crystal Palace in Veilmoore is the royal seat; a separate capital-city name has not been established.

Living Landscape

Grain fields, vineyards, flower farms, livestock, quarrying, and craftsmanship support life beyond the court. Magical plants and animals remain part of the landscape even while Mirum prohibits magical practice.

Historical Scope

The wetlands later associated with Tiosus belong to Mirum during The First Fracture. Precise borders, distances, national population, and founding dates are not specified here.
